Jake 'The Snake' Roberts hospitalized; Freakshow will go on with Rikishi in his place

Roberts reportedly fell ill on a flight from Atlanta to Las Vegas and was taken to the hospital immediately upon landing. Wrestler Sinn Bodhi, who has been with Roberts in the hospital, tells TMZ that Roberts came down with the flu two weeks ago and was told to rest by his doctors. Earlier this year, Roberts underwent surgery to remove a cancerous growth behind his knee, but from all accounts, this is unrelated to that health scare.

Currently, Roberts is in the ICU and his immune system is not in great shape. Bodhi says they're all "just staying positive," and writes on Twitter, "With @JakeSnakeDDT at hospital, he's more worried about disappointing fans then getting better! We told him 2 shut up &beat this phnemonia! ( sic)."

Fellow former wrestler Diamond Dallas Page adds on Twitter, "Just spoke to @JakeSnakeDDT 's girlfriend, Jake is now conscious but still fading in and out. Please keep the prayers coming."

Roberts had been flying to Las Vegas to take part in the Freakshow Wrestling event this weekend, hosted by The Amazing Jonathan. Bodhi assures fans that the show will go on, writing on Twitter, "Long time pal @TheREALRIKISHI will make sure that in case no DDT tomorrow night there def will be a #STINKFACE #GetBetter @JakeSnakeDDT."

You can listen to Bodhi's interview with a local Las Vegas radio station here, where he details Jake's condition and says Rikishi will be stepping in for Jake at Freakshow Friday night (Aug. 29).
