James Bond sequel suspended, future uncertain
The next James Bond installment is in limbo and delayed indefinitely, the film's producers announced Monday, April 19.
"Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on 'Bond 23' indefinitely," stated EON Productions' Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. "We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of 'Bond 23.'"
The film was previously scheduled for release in 2011/2012.
MGM, which produces the Bond films, is up for sale, and until it knows its fate, 007 must also await his.
