"Does anybody know this song?," James Durbin asked the crowd before launching into his rendition of Journey's classic "Don't Stop Believing."
We do, James. We do! We watched "Laguna Beach"! We jest. Of course we know the song, we watch "Glee."
James took a risk on "American Idol's" Top 4 performance show on Wednesday, May 11, when he took on a song from judge Randy Jackson's band. Luckily, the risk paid off. Durbin's great vocals mixed with his amazing stage presence and high energy added up to a stellar performance that set the bar for the rest of the night.
Steven Tyler said, "You did it right, man. You couldn't have picked a more popular song. Nice going." Jennifer Lopez continued showering high praise on the show's resident rocker, saying, "It was a really, really great job. Great job, great song, great performance."
Randy took a chance to praise himself as well as James in his critique. "You paid such a great homage to my friends, a great rock band," Jackson said. "That was the highest degree of difficulty and you did it!"
What did you think of Durbin's "Don't Stop Believing," Zappers?
