Along with giving the starting command, "Drivers, start your engines," Franco will ride in a pace car prior to the green flag and participate in pre-race ceremonies. He'll also be introduced at the drivers meeting.

Franco's predecessors in Grand Marshal duties include Ben Affleck, Kate Upton, and Matthew McCounaghey. The 200-lap, 500-mile race takes place Feb. 24, and will air live on Fox.

In other fun Daytona 500 news, Nascar drivers Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, Michael Waltrip and Aric Almirola have signed up to run the Daytona Beach half-marathon in the early morning hours before their afternoon race qualification on Feb. 17.

Here's hoping these drivers' legs haven't turned to jelly when it's time to hit the accelerator.
