Jamie Dornan's 'Fifty Shades of Grey' casting confirmed by E.L. James

jamie-dornan-confirmed-fifty-shades-of-grey-christian-grey.jpgIt's been all over the interwebs since last weekend, but it's officially official now that it's come from the author herself -- "Once Upon a Time" and "The Fall" star Jamie Dornan is the new Christian Grey, says the woman behind the trilogy of novels, E.L. James.

"Stow your twitchy palms ladies... our man is here. Welcome to #TeamFifty @JamieDornan1 x," tweets James.

The fan response was swift and excited, some of which are not appropriate to print here. But responses included:

  • "You made me pull over on a highway!"
  • "I just got the shivers!!! I need a safe word to deal with this!! Yay!!"
  • "OH.MY.GOOOOD!! Greyt news! He's perfect for the role!! We. Love. You!!!"

Based on the fan response so far, it sounds as though most of them think Dornan is a far superior choice over "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam, so perhaps this casting shakeup is the best thing all the way around.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" is slated to hit theaters Friday, Aug. 1, 2014.
