It's official: Jane Lynch has filed for divorce from her wife of three years, Lara Embry. This comes a month after Lynch announced that the marriage was over.

Lynch's court documents, filed at the Los Angeles County Court, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the move, according to TMZ. The documents also said that the couple had been separated since Feb. 2013.

The couple met in 2009 at a fundraiser in San Francisco, and the two were legally married in Massachusetts one year later. Lynch, 52, and Embry, 44, then registered as a domestic partnership in California. Considering the flux state of gay-marriage laws -- especially in California -- there may be trickier legal issues than usual for this divorce.

Other issues are probably simpler. According to sources cited by TMZ, there is no prenuptial agreement between Lynch and Embry, which indicates a 50/50 split of assets. Will Lynch, the star of "Glee" and the new "Hollywood Game Night," have to pay up?

That remains to be seen. Hopefully, the pair can at least end their relationship amicably.
