With two open spots on the judging panel for "The X Factor" that will likely be filled by ladies, the names of some of music's most famous female singers have been flying around as possible replacements for Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
But don't expect to see Janet Jackson, one of the pop stars whose name has come up the most frequently in speculative reports, filling one of those empty judges' seats. The pop star has officially spoken out saying that she's honored that she was thought of, but previous commitments would prevent her from participating in the show.
Jackson tells the Insider that "very flattered that 'X Factor' let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn't be possible."
Besides, there wasn't even an offer on the table anyway. Her reps tell the Insider, "There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to 'X-Factor.'"
Oh well, on to the next pop star! (When do you think they'll figure this thing out? It's gotta be soon, right? So they can start auditions for the new season...)
