After being caught on camera Kristen Stewart-style, canoodling with former "American Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr, country music star Jason Aldean has separated from his wife of nearly 12 years, Jessica Ussery.
Paparazzi photos of Aldean's dalliance with Kerr hit the web in Sept. 2012. Now an insider confirms to Us Weekly the "1994" singer left Ussery in Jan. 2013. "There were obvious problems before the bar kiss, but he finally left earlier this year," says the source.
Aldean's rep tells the mag, "I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share at this time. It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."
After being caught on camera getting up close and personal with Kerr, Aldean took to Facebook to admit his wrongdoing. "I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar," Aldean wrote at the time. "I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself."
Kerr also issued a public apology, calling the get together "a lapse in judgment." A former dancer for NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, Kerr made it as far as the Hollywood round on Season 11 of "Idol."
Aldean and Ussery, who were high school sweethearts, have two daughters, Keeley Aldean and Kendyl Aldean.
