"Orange" stars Taylor Schilling ("The Lucky One") as a Brooklynite who winds up in the slammer due to a college relationship with a drug-runner that she'd thought she'd put behind her. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Biggs will play Schilling's current fiance. The show is based on a memoir by Piper Kerman about her year in a women's prison.

Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of the hourlong series as part of the online streaming and rental service's commitment to ramping up original programming. They've also got fresh (and long-awaited) episodes of "Arrested Development" on tap for next year, the political thriller "House of Cards" directed by David Fincher and featuring Kevin Spacey, and "Hostel" director Eli Roth's werewolf horror series "Hemlock Grove" starring Famke Janssen.

Biggs is best known as pie-loving Jim from the "American Pie" franchise but has also done work in episodic television, including starring in CBS' short-lived comedy "Mad Love" and guest roles on "The Good Wife" and "Will & Grace." He also voices Leonardo in Nickelodeon's reboot of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
