Jay-Z at Obama rally: 'I got 99 problems but a Mitt ain't one'
The regular lyrics are, "If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a b**** ain't one."
For Monday's big event, Beyonce's hubby changed them to: "If you're having world problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a Mitt ain't one."
The rapper joked that he "didn't get that one vetted [by the campaign]" and said Secret Service might jump up on stage and tackle him for not getting it approved. But Jay-Z got through the number just fine, also performing songs like "Run This Town," "Public Service Announcement" and "On to the Next One."
But Jay-Z wasn't the only musical superstar there in support of the president.
"This is testament to how someone's voice can be so powerful, that we're standing in Ohio. I got a phone call, like 'Jay? I need you down in Ohio. I need you to come down with the Boss.' And I said, 'Michelle's coming?'" Jay says. "And [Obama] said, 'No, Bruce Springsteen.'"
"It is an incredible honor to have Jay-Z and Bruce Springsteen both on the same bill," Obama says at the rally. "And not just because I have them both on my iPod ... but because they tell American stories."
