Jay-Z is writing the score for Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby'
Baz Luhrmann has got a great collaborator for "The Great Gatsby": Jay-Z. The Bullitts, a producer/songwriter who frequently works with Jay-Z, revealed on Twitter that they'll be scoring the upcoming F. Scott Fitzgerald adaptation.
"Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby!" The Bullitts tweeted. "It is too DOPE for words!"
That explains why Jay-z's song with Kanye West, "No Church in the Wild," is featured in the movie's trailer. Luhrmann is known for his great use of music in his films (just rewatch "Moulin Rouge"), so it's really exciting to learn that such a talented producer is working on this movie's score. "The Great Gatsby" stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan and is due out on May 10.
