Jay Leno cracks: In retirement, David Letterman and I are doing 'The Sunshine Boys' on BroadwayAdd to Favorites | Late Show With David Letterman
There has been much buzz about who will replace Letterman, but Leno tells "Extra" that there are big shoes to fill. "I don't know a lot of good people out there," says Leno, and when asked if he would fill in for Letterman, Leno says, "There's nothing to fill in."
Leno also cracks that with the late-night gigs behind them, he and Letterman are headed for the Great White Way. "He and I [are going to] do 'The Sunshine Boys' on Broadway, so we're very excited about that."
"The Sunshine Boys" is a Neil Simon play about an aging former vaudeville duo who grew to hate each other but reunite for one last performance. Come to think of it, Leno and Letterman reviving "The Sunshine Boys" on Broadway would probably be amazing.
