Elfman, who starred in CBS' "Accidentally on Purpose" last season, is talking with ABC about starring in its comedy pilot "Bad Mom." The former "Dharma & Greg" star will play a single mother who has previously left much of the child-rearing burden to her own mom, then has to take on those responsibilities when grandma finally says no. Ricci, meanwhile, is in negotiations for another ABC pilot, "Pan Am." She would play a flight attendant in the drama about the men and women who worked for the titular airline in the 1960s. Ricci has dabbled in series TV before, guesting on "Saving Grace," "Grey's Anatomy" and upcoming episodes of "CSI," but this would be her first regular role on a show. [ Hollywood Reporter]

"Little Children" and "Watchmen" star Patrick Wilson is also headed to a TV series for the first time, booking the lead role in a CBS drama from writer Susannah Grant ("Erin Brockovich"). He'll play a Type A surgeon and recent widower whose late wife starts communicating with him from beyond the grave and helps him turn his life around. [ TVLine]

"Little in Common," the FOX comedy from "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas, has cast three of its roles, the latest being Kevin Hart ("Death at a Funeral"). The show about parents brought together by their kids' Little League team will also star "Daily Show" alumnus Rob Corddry and Paula Marshall ("Gary Unmarried," Thomas' "Cupid" 1.0). [ Deadline]

"The Kids in the Hall" and "NewsRadio" alum Dave Foley has joined CBS' comedy "How to Be a Gentleman." Elsewhere at the Eye, Eva Amurri ("Californication") has joined "The Doctor"; Judy Marte, Tom Reed and Star Sands have been cast in "Rookies"; and Jenn Proske has joined "Home Game." [ Variety]

Speaking of "Rookies": Adam Goldberg, late of ABC's "The Unusuals," has joined the cast. He'll play an older rookie who joined the force after being laid his job as a reporter. [ EW]

So that's where Haywire went. "Prison Break" actor Silas Weir Mitchell has joined NBC's fairy tale-inspired drama "Grimm," where he'll play a recovering big bad wolf who's trying to stay on the non-human-eating wagon. [ Deadline]

Finally, a couple more pieces of comedy casting from ABC: "Better Off Ted's" Malcolm Barrett has joined "Other People's Kids," and Diana Maria Riva ("The Good Guys") will be in "Lost and Found." [ Variety]
