Transportation and communication minister Gerardo Ruiz Esparza says that the plane was found in Nuevo Leon state, without survivors. "There is nothing recognizable, neither material nor human [in the wreckage]," he says.

Rivera gave a press conference the day before her death, in which she was asked about her recent divorce from Major League Baseball pitcher Esteban Loaiza. "I am a woman like any other and ugly things happen to me like any other woman," she said. "The number of times I have fallen down is the number of times I have gotten up."

Rivera had recently signed on to star an ABC comedy pilot called "Jenni," about a single Latina mother running a family business. She was 43, and is survived by five children and two grandchildren.
