Jenni Rivera body: Remains returned home to Southern California
Jenni Rivera has finally returned home. After her remains were officially identified and turned over to her family, the Mexican American singer and television personality was brough back to Southern California where she will be laid to rest.
The Rivera family brought Jenni's remains back to the United States by private jet, which arrived at Long Beach Airport on Dec. 13. Fans gathered along her route home, with some waiting at the mortuary she was dropped off at while others gathered outside her family's Lakewood home. There, many have left photos, candles and flowers to serve as a memorial to the late star.
Reports that Rivera had died started after her plane went missing on Dec. 9. It was later confirmed that her plane had crashed, killing all seven people onboard. Rivera's stylist, Jorge Sanchez; makeup artist, Jacob Yerbale; and attorney, Marcio Macias, were also on the plane.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It has been revealed that the pilot had been working too long a shift on the day he was flying, and that the plane had already been in a crash once in 2005.
