After all those tears leading up to the "Dancing with the Stars" finale, doctors say Jennifer Grey will be back in fighting shape in no time.
The season 11 champ had surgery to repair a ruptured disc in her back, which she suffered on the first night of the show's finale. Grey had "a huge fragment" removed from her back during the procedure, and is now getting some much deserved R&R.
"I'm still recovering at home. I have to rest a bit more, but I feel great -- completely pain free," she tells People.
Dr. Robert S. Bray Jr, who performed the surgery, says that Grey "can go back to her family, pilates, dancing -- just about anything she wants to do."
The rupture in Grey's back measured larger than one centimeter, and was treated at the time of the show with steroids. According to Dr. Bray, an average patient with a similar injury would need "three to four days of bed rest, not dancing a waltz and a cha cha." Jennifer of course, is not an average patient. "When she sets her mind to something, there's no stopping her," the doc continues.
He's right, not even Bristol Palin could stop Grey and partner, Derek Hough, from getting that mirror ball.
