"American Idol" isn't the only place Ryan Seacrest and Jennifer Lopez are working together. The two are teaming to produce a police drama for NBC, which has been given a 13-episode straight-to-series order. Lopez will also star in the show, called "Shades of Blue."

According to THR, she will play Harlee McCord, a single mother and dirty cop who is recruited by the FBI's anti-corruption task force to go undercover. She faces the moral dilemma of working against the officers in her unit, who all pitch in to help raise her daughter, and redeeming herself for past wrongs.

Production on the series is scheduled to start in 2015, with the show ready for air in the 2015-2016 season. This is NBC's fifth straight-to-series order currently in the works, after "Emerald City," "Mr. Robinson," "Working the Engels" and an untitled comedy starring Ellie Kemper from Tina Fey.
