Jeremy London's dangerous drug habit: 'I felt like I was losing everything'

jeremy-london-getty.jpgHollywood's current tale of early-in-life fame and fortune leading to drugs and an ensuing downward life spiral belongs to ... Jeremy London.

The "Party of Five" and "7th Heaven" star tells People that his rise to fame led him to pick up a dangerous drug habit.

"I was treated like royalty," says London. "It was hard for my brain to accept."

The 37-year-old actor says that prescription pill abuse was partially to blame for the demise of his marriage to actress Melissa Cunningham. They share a 3-year-old son, Lyrik.

London attempted to show he can be a good dad and fight his drug addiction by going to a rehab center back in September 2009. Prior to that, things looked pretty bleak.

"There were times I didn't care if I died," he says. "I felt like I was losing everything."
