'Jersey Shore' canceled: Season 6 will be its last
The network insists in its announcement of the show's end that "the party will never be over," but yeah, it is. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi just had a baby, everyone else has grown up some (and grown apart some, if various rumors are to be believed), and ratings, though still very strong, have fallen some from the show's peak.
The final season will premiere Thursday, Oct. 4. MTV will give fans a sneak peek at the last go-round in an hour-long retrospective special called "Gym, Tan, Look Back" that will air at 6 p.m. ET Sept. 6, prior to the Video Music Awards. The "Jersey Shore" cast will also be at the awards to talk about the end of the series.
Die-hards can still look forward to the second season of the spinoff show "Snooki & JWOWW," which will likely premiere early next year.
Will you be sad to see "Jersey Shore" go?
