'Jersey Shore' renewed: MTV exports the crew to Italy for Season 4
"While the stateside 'Jersey Shore' locales have become iconic for our audience, it's really the constantly evolving dynamic amongst the cast that keeps them coming back each season, and Europe is a fresh spin on a show that continues to reach new heights for us," says Chris Linn, MTV's head of programming. "The cast is headed to the birthplace of the culture they love and live by. We can't wait to see what erupts as a result."
Translation: We will follow the crew as they try to figure out how to G.T.L. in Italy. The girls trade in gorillas and Euro-trash it up, while the guys finally have some chicks who they haven't already hit on.
MTV has already set up the crew with cast member Vinny Guadagnino's family in Italy. And reports says they'll begin shooting in May.
It was never a doubt for us that "Jersey Shore" would be renewed. It ranks No. 1 among MTV's target audience, the 12-to-34-year-old crowd. And last week's episode attracted a series-high 8.9 million viewers.
We're really looking forward to learning a lot about Italian culture. For example, will Snooki get one phone call when she's arrested in Italy?
