JetBlue flight attendant Steve Slater -- beer, bye-bye and bail

steve-slater-jetblue.jpg Steve Slater is making headlines Tuesday (Aug. 10) as the JetBlue Flight Attendant who, when confronted with an unruly passenger who struck him with the bag she was removing from the overhead compartment, got on the plane's PA system, told off said passenger, grabbed some beers and exited the plane by inflating the emergency slide and soaring off to freedom.

A New York City judge has set bail at $2,500 for Slater, reports CBS News -- apparently he is not a flight risk. At the arraignment, in arguing for freeing Slater without bail, defense attorney Howard Turman said his client was under stress because his mother has lung cancer.
