Jewel, Ty Murray introduce son Kase Townes
Jewel tells People about wanting a natural birth, but ending up with an emergency c-section.
"They always say, 'Make a plan and God laughs,' right? We wanted a natural birth and I was committed to that. I studied hypnobirthing," says Jewel. But she adds, "I feel lucky to be pregnant in a modern age where they could tell he wasn't well during those [Braxton Hicks] contractions," which is what led to the emergency surgery.
"We felt thankful that we had good doctors and a good hospital nearby by, and that everything was OK," she continues. "I'm so lucky that we have a healthy baby boy. That's all I cared about."
"I felt like somebody went to a cabinet, pulled out a perfect baby and handed him over. It's overwhelming," Ty adds.
