Former "Good Morning America" co-host Joan Lunden appeared on the show Tuesday (June 24), revealing she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared the news with Robin Roberts, who faced the same news in 2007 with her own diagnosis.

"Nothing showed in my mammogram and you come out of there like, 'Yes, one more year. I'm OK'," London says of her annual checkup. "And then you go all happy-go-lucky into the ultrasound and she kept going back to one spot."

Lunden says she has already begun chemotherapy treatments to beat the cancer, though she'll undergo surgery and radiation. She wrote more extensively about the news on her blog, telling the story of growing up the daughter of a cancer surgeon.
