Jodie Foster's father Lucius Foster convicted on grand theft, could face 25 years in prison
Lucius Foster was found guilty of running a scheme where he took down payments for homes that were never built. In addition to these charges, Foster was also convicted on nine counts of operating without a contractors license.
When the verdict was read, Lucius Foster told judge Gregory Dohi that would would like to keep building houses to pay back the victims. This drew an expected response from the judge, Fox News reports.
"I don't think you get it," Dohi says. "You can never do this kind of work again."
The 89-year-old Foster is estranged from his Oscar-winning daughter.
