Joey McIntyre completes Boston Marathon minutes before explosion
"There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished- I'm ok but I'm sure there are many hurt," McIntyre writes on Twitter. He later adds, "I don't know what to say. I feel for everybody involved with the Boston Marathon. My family is ok. I am ok. Gonna take a while to process."
He had previously been tweeting about how excited he was to participate in the annual race, running for Team Eye & Ear and the Alzheimer's Association, along with this picture (left).
NKOTB member Donnie Wahlberg expressed his concern during the confusion following the bombs about his fellow bandmate, writing, "Please reach out if you hear that @joeymcintyre is ok!!!!! Please say a prayer for everyone in Boston!" and later, "Just heard that @joeymcintyre is ok! Thanks to everyone for tweeting! Scared for everyone else in Boston. #PrayerForBoston please."
He later writes, "No words to describe the pain in my heart, at this moment, in seeing my city torn apart this way. So sad. Please #pray4boston & the victims." and "Dearest Boston.... Your resolve is unquestionable. Your character undeniable. Your history unparalleled. You've inspired us, all the way. You will again today."
Brother Mark Wahlberg adds, "You try to put everything in God's hands and whatever happens here is out of our control and there's a bigger picture. But it's still obviously upsetting."
