John Mayer buys a guitar for a fan who can't afford it
Julie Fermin (above, left), a 16-year-old girl who was doing some browsing in a Manhattan's music store, ran into John Mayer and Katy Perry on last Friday (July 5) and after chatting with them about music for a few minutes, Mayer secretly bought Fermin a very special gift.
He asked her which instrument in the store she liked best and when she pointed out a fairly expensively guitar, "[Mayer] went over and checked the guitar's price. I said, 'Yup, but I can't afford it,' and he said, 'Oh, stop it!'" Fermin tells US Weekly.
Which Fermin thought was the end of the story. Until Mayer and Perry left and a store employee came over to her and said to her and her already "super excited" friends, "Well, you should get more excited, because John Mayer just bought you that guitar!"
"I was so shocked," says Fermin, who has been playing guitar since age 11. "I started crying and screaming. I cannot describe all the emotions I felt at that moment. I just knew I was the luckiest and happiest person alive."
Fermin has since tweeted a picture she took with the famous singers (above) and also writes on Twitter, "I never in my life thought I'd meet and get to talk to Katy Perry and John Mayer.. I literally thought it was impossible. FOREVER MIND BLOWN."
