John Mayer talks Katy Perry and marriage: 'I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship'
Is John Mayer showing a reformed side? Judging by his "I was just a jerk" admission about his past relationships and seemingly happy coupledom with Katy Perry, it seems like he has.
During a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Mayer opened up about what makes Perry different from all of his previous girlfriends. Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson might not be happy to hear this, but Mayer says he finally doesn't feel like he's part of a Hollywood couple.
"For the first time in my life I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. I really don't. I'm not in a high profile -- I know it's high profile. It's hard to explain," he says. "Doesn't feel that way to me. And great! I'm glad. But I know what you're saying. I'm not denying it. I'm saying that for me it feels like something that's very human."
When asked if he thinks marriage is in his future, Mayer admits, "Of course. I mean, I'm still the kid from Connecticut. That's what you do."
