John Travolta's private apology to Idina Menzel after 'Adele Dazeem' flub revealed

john-travolta-idina-menzel-apology-oscars-gi.jpgWhile John Travolta's public apology for his epic screwup of Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars may have been slightly lacking in any actual apology, but it turns out his private approach was much better.

After introducing Menzel as "Adele Dazeem" before her big performance of "Let It Go," Travolta sent the singer-actress a giant bouquet of flowers to formally apologize, E! News reports.

"He sent her a big, gorgeous bouquet of flowers to her dressing room. It was HUGE. It was his apology to her," a source says. "It was clear he felt very bad about it. And by the size of the arrangement it was an obvious 'forgive me please' gesture."

That's loads better than the public statement that was as questionable as the flub itself. In the days following the embarrassing mispronunciation, Travolta's statement read: "I've been beating myself up all day. Then I thought ... What would Idina Menzel say? She'd say, 'Let it go, let it go!' Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy 'Frozen' took home two Oscars Sunday night!"

All's well that ends well, it seems.
