johnny-depp-jimmy-kimmel-gi.jpg Johnny Depp paid a visit to "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Monday (July 1) to promote his new movie, "The Lone Ranger." During Depp's time on Kimmel's stage, he practically made out with the late night host, and was forced to explain a photo he posed for with boy band One Direction.

Kimmel asks Depp of the photo tweeted by his daughter, "How did this happen?" Johnny pauses for a bit before trying to play it cool. "I don't recall that at all," Depp says, inciting laughter from Jimmy and his audience. Then he comes clean:

"My daughter is a great fan of One Drection," says Depp. "And she asked if she could go see them on, I think the 'Ellen' show or something. And so I hooked it up."

As it turns out, the boys of 1D are fans of Depp -- obviously -- and wanted to come home with his daughter to say hello to him. "So then One Direction went with your daughter back to your house," Kimmel asks incredulously. Depp responds, "You seem somewhat jealous."

"Let's just say it doesn't happen for me," Kimmel says. "I would be lucky if I could get the guys from 98 Degrees to come to my house." Depp feigns ignorance of Nick Lachey and company's existence, but goes on to say his favorite artist as a teen was Iggy Pop. He also reveals he made a "bad move" trying to make an impression on Iggy by yelling expletives at him at a bar.
