While Wally Pfister is largely known as the Academy Award-winning cinematographer behind the "Dark Knight" trilogy, sitting in the director's chair is new territory for him. He's making his debut in a big way though, with "Transcendence," starring Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall and Morgan Freeman.
The details of the film have been kept largely under wraps, but the science fiction thriller features a computer scientist who uploads her husband's brain into a computer following his death.
The set photo (from the LA Times), promotional poster and short behind the scenes featurette (care of Film Stage) that have been released are intended for the Chinese market, but offer the first look at anything from the movie.
The clip doesn't feature much footage of the cast, though there is a shot of Freeman and co star Cillian Murphy. The rest of the takes a look at the miniatures that have been built to help determine that the movie will look like, along with a greeting from Hall.
"Transcendence" is set for theaters April 18, 2014. Check out the footage and poster below:
