Judd Apatow is talking with Hulu about a new show ... maybe with Gillian Jacobs?

The news comes from Vulture, which says Hulu and Apatow are in "advanced discussions" about the show, titled "Love." Possibly sweetening the pot even further, "Community" star Gillian Jacobs has been "approached" for one of the lead roles. Jacobs is currently working on Season 4 of HBO's "Girls," which Apatow executive produces.

No deal is done yet, either for the show itself or Jacobs' involvement. Jacobs is, at least for a few more days, still attached to "Community." That show's producer, Sony, is still looking for a home for a possible sixth season, and has the cast under contract through Monday (June 30).

Apatow is writing "Love" with Lesley Arfin ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") and Paul Rust ("Comedy Bang! Bang!"), with Rust also set to co-star. The show would explore a number of relationships, with a dysfunctional couple at the center of things, Vulture says.

If the deal goes through, and his schedule permits, Apatow will also direct on "Love."
