Judge rips Allen Iverson as horrible parent, orders strict custody requirements

judge-rips-allen-iverson-custody-decree-gi.jpgNBA All-Star Allen Iverson is a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad father, according to a family court judge in Atlanta. The b-baller turned failed rapper is notorious for drinking, gambling, and otherwise wreaking havoc, and the judge says that's no way to parent.

TMZ reports Iverson's divorce from the mother of his five children, Tawanna Iverson, is finalized and the courtroom decree includes many unkind words for the bad dad.

According to the document, Iverson "has refused to attend to an obvious and serious alcohol problem, which has caused him to do inappropriate things in the presence of the children while impaired." Those things include leaving the children unsupervised, and leaving his young daughters with strange men.

The judge in the case says, ""[Iverson] does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development." Ouch.

Tawanna will have full legal and physical custody of the kids, and Iverson will have visitation rights under strict conditions. He is ordered to seek alcohol abuse treatment, attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and is banned from consuming booze for 18 months. After that, he will not be allowed to drink alcohol within 24 hours of visitation times.

OK, now is this a little steep, considering no crime was committed involving the children? Or is the judge doing the right thing to protect the kids? Weigh-in below in the comments section.
