timothy-olyphant-justified-ghosts.jpgThe next-to-last episode of "Justified" seemed to wrap up the big story points of Season 4 -- Drew Thompson got his deal, Ellen May was safe, Raylan was about to start serving his suspension.

And then Winona got a rocking chair for the baby's room delivered by Nicky Augustine's man Picker, closing out "Peace of Mind" on a chilling note.

Nicky's ( Mike O'Malley) decision to go after Raylan's ( Timothy Olyphant) ex and the mother of his child is a big driver of the action in Tuesday's (April 2) season finale, "Ghosts." It's the last loose end for both Raylan and the Detroit crew in the wake of the Thompson case, and it brings a lot of the issues Raylan has dealt with over the course of the season to a head?

It's tough to say just how that happens without venturing too deep into spoiler territory. One thing that's clear, though, is the episode has a fitting title. Not only are there hints of Raylan's past at pretty much every turn here, but there's also a real sense of dread hanging over the characters.

Raylan and Boyd ( Walton Goggins) cross paths in the finale as well when Raylan seeks out his old friend for help setting up a meeting with Nicky. The two of them haven't been on screen together a lot this season, but the times they have been have been electric, and that's that case here as well.

Boyd, however, has other things on his mind, chief among them figuring out a way he and Ava ( Joelle Carter) can get clear of Delroy's murder and what Ellen May might or might not say now that she's in protective custody. Echoes of Boyd's past come into play here as well.

The "Justified" season finale airs at 10 p.m. ET Tuesday on FX.
