Justin Bartha teases 'The Hangover Part III': It is 'extremely funny' and 'a little bit weirder'
The Wolfpack is back in the new "The Hangover Part III" trailer, but where is Justin Bartha's character Doug? He only makes a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in the teaser, and it remains to be seen if he'll join his friends Alan, Phil and Stu on their last insane road trip.
Zap2it caught up with Bartha on the "New Normal" Paleyfest red carpet and asked him if Doug will finally get in on the action this time around. "That you'll have to wait and see," he hedged, but he did explain how director Todd Phillips mixed up the formulaic approach of "The Hangover" films in "Part III."
"The formula is not necessarily going to be different, as in it's a comedy," Bartha said. "I can guarantee you this -- they're actually screening it tonight [March 6] for a bunch of lucky people -- it is hilarious, and that is how it's not different. It's structurally a little bit similar to the first one, but it is extremely funny and it does have a little bit of a weirder tone to it. It's really good."
When asked for a tease about what fans can expect in the third installment of "The Hangover" franchise, he said, "You can expect it to be the final 'Hangover' movie. That's all I can tell you. It's the last one."
"The Hangover Part III" stars Bartha, Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Melissa McCarthy, John Goodman and Ken Jeong. The comedy is due in theaters on May 24.
