Justin Bieber arrested for alleged DUI and drag racing
With the way his past year has gone, it seemed like only a matter of time until Justin Bieber ran afoul of the law (and got caught). That time has come, it would seem.
The 19-year-old pop star was arrested about 4 a.m. Thursday (Jan. 23) in Miami Beach, reports NBC News. Bieber was pulled over in a rented Lamborghini along with another car on suspicion of drag racing.
Police sources tell NBC 6 that Bieber was driving at such a high rate of speed that it took officers significant distance to catch him. At the traffic stop, Bieber failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. TMZ reports that Bieber was also charged with resisting arrest without violence and driving with an expired license.
The arrest comes on a the heels of a raid at Bieber's Los Angeles-area mansion where many wondered if Bieber let his entourage member Lil Za take the fall for him on a drug possession charge. It was just the latest of a string of incidents where the police were called to his Calabasas home.
