Justin Bieber breaks record on YouTube; Lady Gaga held previous milestone

justin-bieber-youtube-recor.jpg According to social media statistics site Fame Count, Justin Bieber has set a new record on YouTube - he is the first person to ever have over 2 billion video views. The previous big milestone was when Lady Gaga reached 1 billion views back in 2010.

It's kind of fitting - Bieber did get his start on YouTube. His mom began uploading videos of him singing in 2007 at the age of 12 and a star was pretty much born. As of the writing of this article, Bieber has over 37 million Facebook fans, almost 14 million Twitter followers and over 1 million subscribers to his YouTube channel.

Fame Count's rankings still have Gaga at the top in their overall rankings, though, as she has more Facebook fans and more Twitter followers.

Bieber has not yet commented on the 2 billion views story. He is busy promoting his newest studio album, "Under the Mistletoe," which dropped Tuesday (Nov. 1). Did you pick up a copy?
