Justin Bieber going to space on Virgin Galactic, says Richard Branson

justin-bieber-in-space.jpg Justin Bieber has been on a bit of a tear in 2013, so the only natural next step was for him to travel into space.

Richard Branson, the Virgin Group mogul worth upwards of $4 billion, announced on Twitter Wednesday (June 5), "Great to hear @justinbieber & @scooterbraun are latest @virgingalactic future astronauts. Congrats, see you up there!"

Virgin Galactic is Branson's space tourism company that boasts two White Knight Two motherships and five or more SpaceShipTwo tourist suborbital spacecraft. It will launch the space travelers into the Earth's orbit and offer several minutes of weightlessness during the flight.

Bieber is so far mum about the space travel, though he did retweet Branson's announcement. Meanwhile, manager Scooter Braun says on Twitter, "im going to space momma!! cc @virgingalactic @richardbranson @DCGalactic."

Surely Bieber will find a way to perform in space and beam it down for all 40 million Beliebers, right?
