What's the strangest thing you've heard recently? If the answer isn't that Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun is working with "Paranormal Activity" producer Jason Blum and "GI Joe: Retaliation" director Jon M. Chu on a live action movie version of the 80s cartoon "Jem and the Holograms," then you are a liar.
The announcement was made on a YouTube, because where else would you talk about something so truly outrageous? The three are asking fans of the series to submit their ideas, music, casting requests and memories to help them shape the movie.
They want videos on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube and wherever else you can post them, all hashtagged #JemTheMovie. It's a bit too early for it to be an April Fool's joke, but there's something so off the wall about this idea.
If you don't remember "Jem and the Holograms," it was created by Hasbro as a way to sell dolls of the futuristic female rockers. The series currently airs on the Hub Network, weekdays at 5:30 a.m. ET.
