Justin Timberlake accepts Marine Corps Ball invitation
Cpl. Kelsey De Santis, meet your date to the Marine Corps Ball: Justin Timberlake.
Like his "Friends With Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis, Timberlake has accepted an invite to the annual celebration of the Marines' founding. He accepted De Santis' invite earlier this week during a press conference to promote the movie (where Kunis also dispelled reports that she had turned down an invitation from Marine Sgt. Scott Moore).
De Santis asked Timberlake to the ball via YouTube on Tuesday, following Moore's lead when he asked Kunis to be his date. Timberlake hadn't said anything about it publicly until the press conference.
"I accept," Timberlake says. "But not because she shouted out one of my songs -- which I do love when they do that, because I'm shameless. And not because she had all those beefcake military guys behind her to intimidate me, although that probably would have worked by itself."
So why then? "I don't get asked out -- ever," he continues. "So I was very flattered by that. And I hear she's trained in martial arts, so I'm hoping we can tussle at some point. [Pause] That last part was a joke."
As of this post, no Marine had asked Kunis and Timberlake's fellow "Friends With Benefits" stars Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Andy Samberg to the ball. But there's still time.
