Justin Timberlake's 'In Time' mom Olivia Wilde: Three years his junior

"We laughed about it when we first saw each other," Timberlake tells EW of Wilde, who co-starred in 2006's "Alpha Dog" with him as well. "First of all, Olivia is three years younger than me!"

Director Andrew Niccol tells the mag that he cast Wilde because she seemed to have an "old soul" while still being able to play a character who looked 25 years old, since everyone in "In Time" is genetically engineered to stop aging when they hit the quarter-century mark.

Timberlake says that he told Wilde a lot of stories about his own mother, Lynn Harless, while they were on set. "We'd read the script and I would say, 'Here's something my mom might do,' or 'Here's the way my mom might say it,'" he says. "I think she really looked to me to give her those little things because she had the trickier job in our scenes. But she's obviously a great actor. When you meet both of [our characters], it's visually jolting, but within seconds you're like, 'Oh, wow, that is his mother.'"
