When "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco walked the red carpet at the Screen Actor's Guild Awards in January, something definitely stood out. The actress was sporting huge bangs that were very different from her normal look.

Months later, while on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," she's explaining what caused the big change, and why it didn't last. It turns out Cuoco had a pretty nasty injury. The actress says while rehearsing for a "Big Bang Theory" scene, she and co-star Johnny Galecki puled a prank, faking a brawl. It was all fun and games until it was pointed out to Cuoco that she was heavily bleeding. She had hit her head and needed six stitches to close the gash.

"The following week happened to be the SAG Awards and I had a black eye and six stitches," she says, "so I decided to have the brilliant idea to get bangs. As you can see I don't have bangs, so I had to get fake bangs." She says her stylists tried to steer her away from the bangs, which she named Bev, but she was determined. "I wanted to wear them because it covered my eye and I was really insecure about this huge black eye."

Cuoco had the bangs with her for the interview, plopping them down on host Jimmy Kimmel's desk before pulling out note cards and reading harsh reviews of the bangs she found online. Cuoco then retired the hair piece forever, as they were tied to a bunch of helium-filled balloons and sent into the sky.
