Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker engaged: 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star a bride-to-be
The couple's blossoming romance is currently playing out on Season 5 of the Bravo reality soap, but Us Weekly reports that Tucker proposed to Burruss during a New Year's Day party at their home and she accepted.
Us also reports that Burruss' "Atlanta" co-star Phaedra Parks was a guest at the party. Do we see a matron of honor role in Phaedra's future?
Tucker apparently discussed the proposal with Burruss' 10-year-old daughter, Riley, ahead of time and got her blessing. The couple has not yet set a date or decided whether or not the wedding will be featured on the show.
Given Burruss' rocky romantic past -- she has never been married but was engaged to A.J. Jewell in the early seasons of "Atlanta"; he was tragically killed shortly after the broke off their relationship -- the comfort and happiness she seems to enjoy with Tucker has been one of the most touching storylines on this season of "Atlanta."
"I used to make jokes with my friends that I [was] part of the Forever Single Club," Burruss tells Us Weekly. "That's what I said before, but now I'm totally different."
