kim-kardashian-kanye-west-proposal-lana-del-rey.jpgThis is one of the weirder things we've seen online in a while. According to British tabloid the Daily Star, Kanye West wants to build a "Downton Abbey"-esque home in the Los Angeles area for his "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star fiancee Kim Kardashian.

A source who is supposedly a friend of the couple tells the Daily Star, "Both Kanye and Kim love the U.K. They think it is so quaint and beautiful. Kanye is fascinated by European history, the aristocracy and the British Royals."

He loves watching 'Downton Abbey' on television and it's exactly the kind of place he would like to live in," the source continues. "They discussed moving to the U.K., but in the end they agreed on bringing a bit of Britain to Los Angeles."

Reportedly the couple has been scoping out a 10-acre site in Calabasas Hills, because Kanye supposedly wants "a statement home that will be passed down from generation to generation, in the way they used to be in the Britain of the Downton era."

The source adds, "Of course there will be a movie theatre, bowling alley and basketball court. It's going to be the family's palace so no expense will be spared on the decor. They intend it to be the most spectacular house ever built."

Hmm.

That sounds weird even for Kanye, but he did rent out a baseball stadium for his proposal, so who knows? If it is true, he has to be sure to invite Diddy over.
