kanye-west-american-idol-judge-pics-rumor-gi.jpgRapper Kanye West is the latest big-name celebrity said to be negotiating with producers to become a new judge for "American Idol," TMZ reports.

Sources tell the site that "Idol" reached out to West about filling one of the seats next to Mariah Carey at the judges' table, and he expressed interest but isn't sure if the gig is a good fit.

"He's on the fence," the source says.

As for how much he'd make if he did sign on the dotted line, sources say the show would "at least match Mariah's salary" of $18 million a year. Reports also say Nicki Minaj is either close to signing a deal or has already signed one to become a judge, and that the judges' table may be home to a party of four for Season 12.

TMZ reports that Keith Urban, Brad Paisley and Enrique Iglesias are also currently frontrunners. And if you ask former "Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert, he's still be considered for a judge's seat as well.
