Kanye West: No felony charge for paparazzi attack
Kanye West might not be getting any felony charges after attacking a paparazzi in LAX, but the rapper still might find himself in a bit of trouble. The Los Angeles district attorney's office is sending the case to the city attorney for possible misdemeanor charges.
Though there's video of West lunging at a photographer who was trying to snap photos of him, neither the paparazzo nor the camera were significantly injured. Prosecutors say because of that and the facts West didn't use a weapon nor does he have a felony record, they declined to prosecute him.
The July 19 incident is just one of many times West has let his displeasure at paparazzi be known. When Adult Swim hired him to perform during their Upfronts in May, West ended up going on a massive rant about paparazzi.
"One thing about me, I'm the worst kinda ... celebrity because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real sh**. And that's it," he half-sings in video from the event that can be watched at Complex. "That's mother***ing it. That's motherf***ing it. So I don't want nobody trying to run up on me with no cameras, trying to sell pictures and sh** to magazines, asking me no dumbass questions, throwing me off of my focus and sh**. Harassing you all mother***ing day. I ain't no mother***ing celebrity."
