Kanye West relives Taylor Swift incident in on-stage rant - should he just keep his mouth shut?
Kanye West recently went on a bit of a rant on stage at a London performance. He dissed Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake's "Suit and Tie" collaboration, but he also dropped a rather infamous name for him to drop -- Taylor Swift.
In case you've forgotten, West famously got up on stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards to interrupt Taylor Swift's acceptance speech by saying that Beyonce should have won.
This time, he has much the same sentiment when he cracks, "Taylor Swift beat Beyonce at the Grammys? Beyonce be dancing in heels and s***."
We aren't sure what dancing in heels has to do with winning Grammys, but OK.
West also ranted against celebrities making big money off corporations, specifically beverages -- which is interesting because Beyonce has a multi-million dollar deal with Pepsi that will see the company investing in her creative output. Timberlake also has a deal with Bud Light Platinum.
West says, "Can I sell your drink for you please? So you can help me put on a better show. Please corporations? Can you please support me, Please? Me, Kanye West? I swear I'm a nice n***a now. I swear I'll put the pink polo back on. I swear to you. Please? Just for three million dollars. I need it so bad. I need a new pool in my back yard. So I'll tell all my fans your s*** is cool. And if they believe in me they should also believe in you."
"Did we you the check yet? Did the corporation send the check yet? What's my public rating right now? Are people liking me again? Enough to get some money from the corporations? Are they liking me now? They forgot about the whole Beyonce thing right? Ok cool. Is it okay now?"
What do you think, readers? Does Kanye have a point? Or should he just perform his music and lay off the on-stage rantings? Does it hurt or help his image, in your eyes?
