'Kardashians' Season 8 premiere ratings pop, 'Wanted Life' bombs on E!Add to Favorites | Keeping Up With the Kardashians
The heavily hyped return of "Kardashians" -- which featured Kim Kardashian discovering she's having a baby girl with boyfriend Kanye West -- drew a strong 3 million total viewers, including an impressive 2 million adults 18-49.
It's the docu-soap's most-watched premiere in three years, but it wasn't enough to top the Season 7 finale which drew 3.6 million viewers to watch the delivery of Kourtney Kardashian's baby. If you want to read that as a small sign of diminishing interest in the Kardashian clan, or baby Kimye, feel free.
But there's only one way to read the series premiere numbers for "The Wanted Life," which debuted immediately following "Kardashians." Drawing just 600,000 viewers -- including 409,000 adults 18-49, in its 10 p.m. premiere -- the series focused on English-Irish boy band The Wanted is a major bomb.
Not only did it lose 80% of the "Kardashians" audience, the reality show bowed with nearly half the viewership of last year's forgettable "Mrs. Eastwood and Company" (1.1. million viewers) and below the disappointing debut for "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" (807,000 viewers).
Sounds like One Direction gets the last laugh here.
