Kate Middleton makes first public solo appearance
Of course, we affectionately kid. We love Kate Middleton with all our hearts and we're not even British.
The lovely Kate stepped out in a beautiful Jesire gray tweed coat dress for a private viewing of a new collection at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Wednesday (Feb. 8). The collection is an exhibition of work by the late artist Lucian Freud, a British artist who is known for his "impasto" technique, or painting with such a thick layer of paint that the brushstrokes are visible.
Kate was on a VIP private tour with (among others) Paul McCartney's daughter Mary McCartney and Freud's daughter Bella, a fashion designer. The exhibition will be open to the public starting Thursday (Feb. 9).
And in just in case you were wondering (because we were), Lucian Freud was the grandson of famed psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.
