Kate Middleton to judge shoe designs as part of Diamond Jubilee celebration

catherine-duchess-queen-elizabeth.jpg Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating her Diamond Jubilee (60 years on the throne) this spring with various events leading up to the official Jubilee celebration during the first weekend in June. The next stop is a visit to Leicester and her new granddaughter-in-law Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is getting in on the fun.

Kate will be judging shoe designs by six students from De Montfort University in Leicester and then will have a pair of the winning design made just for her. The trip to Leicester is happening Thursday, March 8 and will be the first time the Queen and Catherine have appeared at a public engagement together.

The students are Kay Yeng Cheng, 22, from Hinckley, Leicestershire, Tabitha Duffield, 21, from Maidstone, Kent, Becka Hunt, 20, from Peterborough and Mei Chun Lai, 21, from Taiwan, and Sam Sawkill, 27, and Summer Spencer, 23, both from Leicester, reports the Daily Mail. The Daily Mail also has pictures of the six designs. We think Summer Spencer's shoes are our favorite pair, but we are curious as to which pair the Duchess will choose.
