Sometimes when relationships end, a friendship just can't be salvaged from the wreckage. That may be the case for Kate Upton, who used Twitter Wednesday (June 19) to send birthday wishes to former baseball player Frank Viola, a friend of her ex-boyfriend Justin Verlander. In the tweet, Upton writes, "Happy birthday to one of my favorite people ever @FrankViola3," but that's not what is getting the attention.

Attached to the tweet was a humorous eCard that reads, "Happy birthday to a friend of a friend who I now like more than the original friend." Ouch, poor Justin just got knocked out via a birthday tweet. Upton quickly deleted the message and reposted it without the image, but it was too late. The internet had already captured the tweet in all its snarky glory. You can see that below.

Recently, Kate had been rumored to be dating former "Dancing with the Stars" pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, though sources close to the dancer say they're just friends.
